Recapping Oklahoma State’s Big Recruiting Weekend

first_imgOklahoma State hosted a slew of visitors on campus this weekend for the final summer mini-camp, where prospects could show off their talents and do their best to make an impression. According to Scout’s Robert Allen, 176 campers made their way to Stillwater Saturday. Here’s a recap of some of the big names who notably made it to OSU:QuarterbacksMJ Rivers (2018) — MJ is the son of former OSU and NFL tight end Marcellus Rivers, and is making a return trip from a visit just less than a month ago. The 6-4, 210-lb. prospect has really good size and could move to an athlete position at the next level. As of now, he has one scholarship offer from Iowa State. I wouldn’t expect that to be the same for long.Tanner Mordecai (2018) — Mordecai is one of the top prospects in Texas in the 2018 class, so having him on campus this weekend is a pretty big deal. He already has an offer from the Pokes, so he’s wanting more than just a scholly, which is a good sign that the coaches are still building that foundation with him. Notably Houston, SMU, OSU, and Texas Tech have offered the 6-2 dual threat from Waco.2018 QB @t_mordecai has put in great work with @air14football … Advanced technically pic.twitter.com/tW4S85V9sA— Gerry Hamilton (@HamiltonESPN) July 9, 2016Jace Ruder (2018) — Another dual-threat guy who made the trip, Ruder is a pretty polished prospect from Norton, KS, with offers from Bowling Green, Kansas State, Tulsa, Toledo, and a few small schools. With OSU recruiting the state of Kansas well in the past, are they planning to dip back into familiar territory with Ruder?last_img read more
