The University of Toronto women’s basketball program is pleased to announce that Ellen Ougrinov has accepted her offer of admission and committed to the Varsity Blues beginning in the 2019-20 season. “We are so happy to have Ellen return home and wear the Blue and White,” said Michèle Bélanger, who enters her 41st season as Varsity Blues head coach this fall. “Ellen is a talented, hard working player, who will add experience and poise to our game. She is a student-athlete that will provide our team with depth in her position as well as a high compete level.” “I chose U of T because I know its reputation for being a school with high academic and athletic standards and I wanted to be a part of it,” said Ougrinov. “I am looking forward to getting to play for the Varsity Blues on their home court in front of my friends and family.”Ougrinov will study within U of T’s Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education starting this September.
