Councillor Gerry McMonagle has said he condemns ‘in the strongest possible sense’ those responsible for the spate of recent burglaries which have struck the Manorcunningham area. The Letterkenny based Councillor, who is also chair of the Donegal Joint Policing Committee, was reacting to confirmation from Gardaí that they are investigating an aggravated break-in which occurred at a property in the village yesterday afternoon – the second such incident to have taken place in recent days.Cllr McMonagle said “I am extremely saddened by the confirmation which I have received this morning that Gardaí are carrying out an investigation in Manorcunningham following an aggravated burglary which took place at a property in the village yesterday (Wednesday) evening. “It’s understood that the occupant of the house where yesterday’s incident occurred was threatened by two masked intruders before making off with a sum of cash.“Regrettably, this is the second such burglary which has taken place in the Manorcunningham area this week after a similar break-in occurred at a house involving armed intruders and where again the occupants were threatened with violence and damaged was caused to the property.“These are despicable acts and those responsible for carrying out these burglaries are wanton criminals who have no respect for our community, other people’s property, or the rule of law.“These are the actions of mindless thugs and these attacks must be condemned in the strongest possible sense.” He added his thoughts are with the homeowners and victims involved and said he hopes that life returns to normal for them soon after in what was a terrifying and traumatic experience. He added “I would also appeal to anyone with information, no matter how seemingly insignificant, to report it to An Garda Síochána at Letterkenny Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line.“These types of crimes have no place in our community and those responsible for them must be brought to justice.”Councillor slams spate of burglaries as “despicable” was last modified: February 28th, 2019 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)
Share This!Brunch fans, rejoice! May 16 is National Mimosa Day, and there are a variety of options at Walt Disney World if you want to celebrate. Not at Walt Disney World today? No worries–you can celebrate whenever you’re down. (We won’t tell.)One of the easier breakfast/brunch reservations to get is The Wave at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. I’m a huge fan of their sweet potato pancakes, and a mimosa goes great with that. For $18, The Wave offers a “refillable mimosa” (which comes with two refills).Looking for something a little more upscale and okay waiting to celebrate on Sunday? Brunch at the Top in the California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort comes with a pretty significant price tag (around $90 per person) and is only available on Sundays, but it does include unlimited mimosas and valet parking. Swanky, eh?Over at Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Kona Cafe offers a unique twist–a mimosa flight. For $14, you can choose from a variety of juices to make your three-mimosa flight. Juices include Orange, Pineapple, Cranberry, Pink Grapefruit, or Liliko’i (aka POG juice). For the true “I’m at Walt Disney World” experience, on Saturdays and Sundays, Wine Bar George at Disney Springs offers the Frozcato Mimosa made with Dole Whip pineapple–yes, a Dole Whip Mimosa. If that doesn’t sound like weekends at Walt Disney World, I don’t know what does.Photo courtesy Wine Bar GeorgeWhere’s your favorite place to get your brunch on with a mimosa? Whereas before you had to go into a relatively complicated annotations editor to add your comments, you can now just click on a spot in the video during playback and the annotations editor will open automatically. Google has also made it significantly easier to add links to other content on YouTube into your annotations. Now, when you watch your own videos on YouTube, a crosshair appears on the screen and you can start adding annotations by simply clicking anywhere on the video without having to go into the annotations editor. The new linking options inside the comments now allow you to point to another video, channel page, playlist, group, or search query. You will not be able to link to content outside of YouTube, however. The YouTube team also highlights the possibility of linking to a video response page to gather feedback from your audience. Is This a Good Thing? The question, of course, is if this is actually a good thing. Too often, users already overuse the annotations to advertise some of their other videos or to remind us that the video is also available in HD (a note that also pops up when you are already watching the video in HD, by the way). Even Google seems to be aware of this, as they provide a help page with instructions for how to turn these annotations off for embedded videos.OmnisioWe can only assume that this is the first part of the integration of Omnisio‘s technology into the core YouTube service. Google acquired Omnisio last July, though it is important to note that the service did a lot more than just video annotations. Tags:#Google#news#web
SaaS and its twin sister Cloud Computing are taking the IT world by storm. The numbers of companies both adopting and dabbling in SaaS is on an ever-upward curve. Applications like CRM and online backup are seeing great acceptance. But the big hump for SaaS to overcome is integration between on-site applications and with SaaS offerings from other vendors. Integration has always been tough even when all applications are in-house. Integrating with SaaS applications raises the bar with special considerations that are unique to SaaS.Questions around security, the exchange of data from behind the firewall, to an application on the internet, is perhaps of biggest concern with SaaS for companies. Latency of data transfer can also pose challenges. The ability to modify or customize SaaS applications in a way that allows successful integration is a third worry. Some SaaS vendors like Salesforce offer extensive APIs that allow extensive customization, but other SaaS products are strictly limited to customizations or simple API access, making tight integrations difficult.Forrester sums up the problem in their recent report on SaaS adoption: “Firms should not expect any magic integration solutions, SaaS or otherwise.”
