Lifeline wins $20,000 grant for child center

first_imgVancouver — The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington’s Waldon M. Groves Fund awarded Lifeline Connections $20,000 for its therapeutic child center that will be part of the Pregnant and Parenting Women’s program.The substance abuse treatment facility is slated to open in early 2018 in a space previously occupied by Daybreak Youth Services and owned by Janus Youth Services. Up to 16 women and 18 children younger than 5 will live there at any given time, receiving services and learning how to build skills both individually and as families. While the women are in classes, their children will be in therapeutic child care where play sessions will focus on building coping skills.last_img read more
