The opener had a below-par series which was highlighted with a pair in Pune. After failing to score a single run across both the innings in the second test, the frustration got to the 2014 U-19 World Cup-winning skipper as he opted to not go for the review. Replays confirmed the umpire’s error as the ball was seen missing the leg stump.According to the statement provided by the team doctor in a press release, Markram has suffered a fracture. He said:“A CT scan of Aiden Markram’s wrist showed a fracture involving the wrist bones,” team doctor Hashendra Ramjee said in a CSA press release. “The medical team has therefore ruled him out of the next Test match against India. Arrangements have been made for him to see a specialist on his return to South Africa for further management of the injury.”This marks the second incident in a week where a player has inflicted an injury upon frustration after a dismissal with Mitchell Marsh suffering a fracture as well.Read Also:Harbhajan Singh offers resounding support to Sourav Ganguly’s appointment as BCCI PresidentPhoto : Throwback to Jasprit Bumrah when he was a skinny kid Advertisementlast_img read more
