TheHarrison School of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practiceprovides a premier practice, education and research program. Theinnovative professional practice and teaching programs of theHarrison School of Pharmacy provide opportunities for faculty toteach in a student-centered learning environment, including uniqueand innovative early and advanced experiential programs. Facultymembers at the Harrison School of Pharmacy are leaders amongpharmacy educators in the assessment of learning.Responsibilities:•Provide pharmaceutical care services to patients in acute patientcare practices affiliated with the Department of Internal Medicineand Department of Surgery/Trauma at the University of SouthAlabama, College of Medicine located in Mobile, Alabama.•Precept student clerkships in these inpatient settings for theExperiential Programs Office of Auburn University, Harrison Schoolof Pharmacy;•Develop and sustain a scholarship program appropriate for thefaculty member’s professional goals and interests;•Participate in student-centered instruction to Pharm.D. studentsat Auburn University, Harrison School of Pharmacy. Teleconferencingis available for teaching activities, and•Participate in University and School governance through committeeservice.Pertinent Facts about the Position:•The Department of Pharmacy Practice has 39 members practicingthroughout Alabama and Western Georgia, and over 150 adjunctclinical faculty. Faculty are located in Huntsville, Tuscaloosa,Birmingham, Montgomery, Mobile, and Auburn/Opelika, Alabama andColumbus, Georgia.•Mobile, one of the four largest cities in Alabama, is aprogressive Alabama city on the Gulf Coast with a metropolitanpopulation of approximately 600,000. It is located approximately220 miles from Auburn University. Auburn University Harrison Schoolof Pharmacy has a satellite pharmacy education program on thecampus of the University of South Alabama ( USA ). This programprovides synchronous instruction to all four years of pharmacyeducation for approximately 120 students on the Mobile campus.There are ten Mobile Pharmacy Practice faculty practicing at sevenunique practice sites.•Interprofessional education is a priority of the collaborationbetween the Auburn Harrison School of Pharmacy and the Universityof South Alabama Health Science division. As such, opportunitiesexist to serve as an adjunct professor with the University of SouthAlabama, College of Medicine. The successful candidate isencouraged to participate in both pharmacy and medical residenteducation.•Candidates with expertise in the following interest areas areencouraged to apply: Surgery, Trauma, Critical Care andBurns.Minimum QualificationsApplicants must have a PharmD at the time employment begins andcompletion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 residency program, with aspecialty residency in internal medicine or critical care, desired.Candidates must be a licensed pharmacist in the State of Alabama orreciprocate their license from another state within the first 180days of employment.
